SKILLED WORK REGIONAL VISA

The Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) is a points-tested visa for skilled workers who are nominated by a state, territory or sponsored by an eligible relative. Different states or territories have their unique selecting systems. In Australian Capital Territory (ACT), a score-based Canberra Matrix is used to select the candidates.
This visa allows eligible skilled workers and their families to live, work and study in the designated regional area of Australia for up to 5 years. If eligible, visa holders could apply for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191).
